Early pregnancy symptom Cramping occurs in many women and is a sign
of the uterus enlarging and exerting pressure on the inner walls
of the woman's body. If Cramping is not followed by vaginal bleeding,
there is nothing to be worried about. But if there is heavy bleeding
accompanying cramps, then you may have something to fear. The condition
may even indicate a miscarriage. So, a visit to the health care
provider is a must. As soon as you detect very painful cramps followed
by bleeding, neither of which show signs of letting up, you will
have to seek medical help for yourself.
When the Cramping foretells a miscarriage, little
can be done to prevent the miscarriage from taking place. There
are several reasons why a miscarriage occurs. The reasons vary from
genetic causes, radiation, to mutagenic substances including use
of certain medicines, viral infections during the pregnancy, inflammatory
damaged uterus, hormonal etc.
Why Does The Stomach Hurt?
While achiness in the stomach is normal during pregnancy,
severe pain or Cramping never is. While we have discussed miscarriage
as the possible result of Cramping, the pains can indicate various
other complications, and these can mean milder pregnancy complications.
During implantation, many women have low, period-like pain or cramps
for a day or so early in pregnancy around the time the embryo is
embedding itself in the lining of the uterus. Stretching of ligaments
that support her uterus can cause a dull ache across the belly or
a sharp pain on one side, and may bother the woman most when she
is getting up from a bed, chair, or bathtub or when she is coughing.
Then there is the false labor condition which you usually experience
during your second or third trimester, in the middle weeks of pregnancy,
and this begins with contractions or irregular tightening of your
uterus muscles. Sometimes painful, often painless they tend to increase
in the weeks before your due date and are sometimes confused with
early labor. You can tell the difference because false labor is
irregular, unlike real labor pains.
Then there is another condition that early pregnancy
symptom cramping means and that is an ectopic pregnancy. During
the first three months of pregnancy, abdominal pain can be a sign
of pregnancy. In this pregnancy, the fertilized egg is implanted
outside of the uterus, a serious condition that requires immediate
medical attention. Call your health care provider right away if
you notice slight, irregular vaginal bleeding a week or more after
you miss your period. The bleeding is often followed by pain in
the lower abdomen, usually on one side.
Cramping in reality follows in the last weeks of
pregnancy, and may be a sign that it is time for labor. The characteristics
of the cramps that accompany labor include their frequency every
5-10 minutes; their similarity with regard to the pain of a bad
backache or menstrual cramps. But sometimes even mundane reasons
may cause these cramps: reasons like gas pains and bloating; the
pressure of your growing uterus; constipation; and heartburn.
How Can We Rid Ourselves of Cramping Pain?
When mild abdominal pain persists even after you
have consulted your health care provider and given a clean bill
of health, you can follow a few tips to relieve it. Whenever you
feel the achiness, you can sit down, put your feet up, and relax.
Resting comfortably should quickly relieve your symptoms. Other
pain relieving measures include avoiding quick changes in position,
especially turning sharply at the waist; bending towards the pain
to relieve it when you feel the pain; and walking, doing light housework,
or changing position if the pains are caused by gas. These are tips
you could follow to relieve early pregnancy symptom Cramping.
