The
Most Important Tip On Getting Pregnant
by Viz Mon
Get Healthy! Yes, this
is by far the single, most important tip on getting pregnant. It
is also the one advice that doctors don't offer near enough. Your
chances of having a healthy baby will also be maximized if you are
fit and healthy.
Start by getting your
partner and yourself into an exercise routine. It's hard initially,
but once you get started, you will find it to be so refreshing that
you want to keep doing it. Jogging is a good way to start. Or even
swimming. If these sound too boring to you, play some ball games.
The trick is to get started no matter what. Just sweat it out and
have a good work out.
Next is to make changes
to your unhealthy lifestyle. Kick those bad habits! This means less
alcohol, no smoking, and keep your caffeine intake to a minimum,
if you must have a fix! Smoking reduces fertility in both men and
women, which in turn reduces the odds of getting pregnant. Furthermore,
smoking affects the health of the baby, both before birth (miscarriage,
stillbirth, premature birth) and after birth (low birth weight,
respiratory illness). Ask your partner to refrain from heavy drinking
as it may affect the quality of his sperm. Keep stress to a minimum.
Stress is known to cause hormonal changes in the body, which can
lead to infertility.
Get into the habit of
eating the right food, which means more vegetables and fruits, and
watch your weight. Illicit drugs are an absolute no. If you are
on prescription drugs, ask your doctor if they are safe to use while
you are trying to conceive.
Being healthy also allows
you to have regular sex, which increases your chances of getting
pregnant. Acrobatic positions are not necessary, but if both you
and your partner are fit and strong, you can have fun trying various
positions. This way, sex won't feel like a chore as it takes your
mind off the notion that you are trying to get pregnant.
Preconception preparations
are important to the healthy development of your baby, and a smooth
pregnancy. It also helps tremendously when you are in labour. Conceiving
on the first try may only happen to a few couples, but as long as
you and your partner are eating right, exercising regularly, and
lead a healthy lifestyle, pregnancy should come your way very easily.
Here's to your healthy
baby. I hope you have benefited from this very important tip on
getting pregnant.
