All expecting mothers who are awaiting for babies must be extremely
careful if they are smoking. As a mother, your responsibility is
to give the best health care and condition to your baby. Needless
to say, the first step to do for your baby is to quit smoking.
There can be health complications and can be severe to a baby because
of a mother's smoking habit. The unborn child is facing many risks.
Although the fact may be true, there is still a significant increment
in woman smoking nowadays.
A woman who discovers she is already pregnant should
immediately quit smoking. It is best to quit even before a woman
plans to become a mother. Thus, family planning here is also crucial
because it is harder to quit during pregnancy due to the irritation
and withdrawal symptoms and also including hormonal imbalance during
pregnancy.
If is at the best condition to quit smoking before conceiving a
child. This will eliminate all toxics and poisons from flowing into
a woman's baby. The expecting mother should also not depend on nicotine
patch or gum or patches for replacement, because there will also
be nicotine and nicotine will have negative effect on the baby.
Nicotine can also cause blood vessels to contract, restricting blood
flow which means also restricting nutrients for the unborn child.
If a mother really loves her child, there is no other alternative
but to quit smoking for good.
Nicotine could also be fatal to the baby such as causing abruption
where the fetus separates from the placenta. Restriction of blood
flow because of the contraction of the blood vessels, which carry
the baby nutrients, food and oxygen, the baby may be born sick,
or may weigh less compared to a normal baby.
Other sickness includes the danger of contracting leukemia because
of the mother's smoking, and also the risk of getting asthma attacks.
Infant death syndrome chances are also higher for mothers who smoke.
An expecting mother who still smokes have no sense of love and responsibility
towards her child. Therefore, all mothers who are expecting must
